TYNESIDE
SOFTWARE

Once a week, an evening.
We sit down and write code.
Mentoring, building, fun.

Michael’s side project on Tyneside. Once a week, for five or six hours in an evening, we build software together — mostly university students after commercial experience, and Michael’s own children. We mentor, we ship, we have fun. Paid work is welcome when it fits the hours. Day jobs and studies stay in place; we grow as the work asks.

What we build

Software, together

Websites, field tools, logistics, booking pages, client work when it fits the hours. Live sites and real code — so the people in the room leave with commercial experience they can put on a CV.

Mentoring in the room. Building is the work. Fun is part of it.

A bit of good

Some of what we write supports local cleaning and welcome-home cleans for new parents. That work is moving forward.

Contracting is welcome when it fits an evening a week.

How we work

Through Michael’s own experience — and his children’s — we have some insight into the differing needs of neurodivergent people. Everyone is welcome. We are trying to make a space where we can be ourselves and think differently.

One evening a week

Five or six hours. Day jobs, courses, and school stay in place. If the work asks for more of us, we will follow it.

Real experience

We ship things people can click. Mentoring turns into a CV someone can stand behind.

Who is in the room

University students who want commercial experience, and Michael’s children.

Why we show up

Building teams, mentoring, and making software. Paid work is welcome. Fun is part of the brief.

Cloud Connect Software

Michael’s day job — a separate company. Cloud Connect is the weekday work. Tyneside is the evening project beside it.

What it is

Cloud Connect helps organisations that need to pull data from 50,000+ invoices a year (and similar document volumes). Messy real-world documents, high accuracy, high flexibility.

How it relates

Co-founded with Steve Britton and Calum Formby. Different company. Different hours. Introductions to Cloud Connect are welcome — that is the commercial work Michael does for a living.
